POSITION PURPOSE

Supervises the timely location and acquisition of parts/materials for Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Supervises Materials Specialists and Leads. Coordinates all stockroom activity.

  • Coordinates all aspects of base inventory operations including, but not limited to, timely and accurate shipping, receiving, warehouse transfers, parts issues, returns to inventory. Insures that associated computer transactions are performed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Insures proper storage, identification and segregation of parts. Oversees shelf life program and insures that shelf life is not exceeded.

  • Enforces stockroom security, cleanliness and organization. Insures the highest level of inventory integrity is maintained. Insures that Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUP) awareness is maintained to prevent any introduction of a SUP component to base materials inventory.

  • Oversees inventory-related projects and insures timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Ensures compliance with hazardous materials/dangerous goods regulations. Completes and maintain training in safety, HAZMAT, parts systems, SITA airport access for vehicles, etc.

  • Oversees the shipping functions in accordance with company and regulatory shipping standards.

  • Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential employees. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports. Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years related experience.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.

  • Must be able to operate forklifts and other machinery.

  • Must be able to pass and remain current on HAZMAT Dangerous Goods Handling course.

  • Possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and Word.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in aviation or supply chain preferred. Previous lead or supervisory experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

DECISION MAKING

Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction. Decisions often require some thought and are somewhat structured. Decisions tend to be short term and usually of moderate cost.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to focus with clear vision at 20 inches or less (computer screen).

Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts, around fumes and in high or precarious places.

  • Work in an open air hangar up to 100% of the time.

  • Exposed to moderate noise.

  • Able to work a schedule that supports 24 hour operations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight travel.
