POSITION PURPOSE :

This position will provide overall strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of IT Infrastructure, end user support & operations including hardware design and delivery, server and storage, system administration, collaboration, directory services, regulatory compliance, hardware & end user computing services.

The position will be responsible in managing our hybrid cloud infrastructure spanning multiple collocation facilities and AWS/ Azure public cloud tenants. This person will own all aspects of collocation and cloud operations, including availability, build/release, infrastructure automation, data center storage & compute, virtualization, load balancing, NOC/monitoring, disaster recovery and application infrastructure. The candidate needs to bring technology thought leadership in DevOps, Continuous Integration/Delivery, and Public Cloud adoption.

The position is also responsible for IT Service Center and IT Field Services, overseeing and coordinating delivery of various IT services to our internal customers and meeting our SLAs. The Director will be responsible and accountable for IT Service Management adoption including but not limited to Change, Incident, Problem, and Configuration Management as well as Tier 1 Application Support all providing a centralized focus on service improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations, defines and develops the organization’s short and long-term technology architecture plans based on an understanding of the organizations strategic initiatives.

  • Personally, drive key modernization initiatives of Cloud Transformation and Adoption, Nextgen Deployment System & Containerization

  • Plan, direct and lead the operation of systems infrastructure. This includes hybrid cloud infrastructure spanning multiple collocation facilities, AWS and Azure public cloud tenants.

  • Provide team Leadership for numerous hosted Windows servers, application servers, database servers (MSSQL), file and print servers, backup services, email servers, gateways, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and Configuration Management. Manage and maintain the enterprise storage and Storage Area Network (SAN) environment including troubleshooting, performance planning, capacity, and continuity planning. Maintain the enterprise virtualization environment, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring and optimization, capacity, high availability and continuity planning.

  • Collaborate with IT Process Manager utilizing ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) foundations best-practice framework to enhance processes, procedures, and policies for delivering high quality services that are aligned with business needs and objectives. Ensure Operations Teams are adhering to Information Security, Regulatory Compliance, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes/practices.

  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging Cloud developments/trends, assess the impact, and collaborate with IT and Business executive/senior management to incorporate new trends and emerging technology and practices current and future Cloud strategies.

  • Has fiscal responsibility for all IT infrastructures and operations budgeting and actual to budget performance.

  • Lead and oversee the planning, design, implementation and documentation of all new infrastructure projects and upgrades to existing infrastructure.

  • Develop and implement departmental metrics and up-time statistics. Ensure timely resolution of service incidents and completion of service requests following SLAs. Effectively defining and analyzing metrics to drive standards and influence team behavior; holding team accountable for the achievement of goals.

  • Manage the production support function including establishing procedures, monitoring, troubleshooting issues and escalation with vendors and internal teams.

  • Hires, train, coaches, mentors, and performs succession planning for all our organization infrastructure and services technology personnel. Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential associates. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports. Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering or computer science or equivalent experience preferred.

  • 10+ years’ experience in IT leadership and managing multiple teams.

  • Proven success in working with IT and Business senior leadership team in a demanding, fast-paced, critical operations and high-quality environment.

  • Must have current and prior leadership experience in data center management and migration/transformation to public cloud (Azure/AWS) across and Enterprise.

  • Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation, as it relates to DevOps and Agile processes.

  • Experience with fiscal management, budget and actual to budget performance is required.

  • Experience with DevOps Infrastructure required.

  • Experience with Agile processes is required.

  • Experience in CI/CD processes and technologies preferred.

  • Innovative thinker, able to envision how technology can be implemented to solve challenges.

  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.

  • Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.

  • Experience in planning and managing complex projects.

  • Experience in implementing and managing regulatory compliance.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
