POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for the development, oversight and managing the processes and procedures to design, implement and maintain an effective Business Continuity (BC) program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Administers Business Continuity plans meant to preserve business operations after a natural disaster or other disruptive event that affect company operated facilities

  • Drives the inventory, classification, ranking, and documentation of business processes.

  • Responsible for developing the Business Continuity program, to include short and long-term objectives.

  • Propels the creation and administration of business process risk assessment and impact analysis.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all business continuity.

  • Drives the creation and administration of business process recovery and management incident response plans.

  • Oversees the creation and administration of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) tests, exercises and program strategy. Create back up plans.

  • Assists in the development of backup or recovery plans for critical business functions.

  • Gathers, interprets and ensures Business Impact Analysis (BIA) are conducted for all departments by guiding each departments’ risk and business impact analysis.

  • Works collaboratively with stakeholder Disaster Recovery Teams and Emergency Response Teams to ensure business resumption strategies, goals and initiatives are aligned.

  • Manages and drives the provisioning of business recovery spaces.

  • Creates and administers the BCP awareness training programs.

  • Serves as a liaison and coordinates with the IT Disaster Recovery Team on company-wide continuity objectives.

  • Drives the annual BCP plan maintenance operation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Specialty training beyond high school in Business Continuity Planning, Project Management or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 3 years related experience. Strong project management skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Problem management. Judgement. Detail oriented. Attentiveness.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) with at least 6 years related experience.

  • Certification in DR, BCP, FCP, and/or Project Management preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical

procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and

procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups

of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an

extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract

and concrete variables.

DECISION MAKING

Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.
